Low Hanging Fruit Referral – Part Three

This is the third of four (4) blogs defining Referral types at PRO.

  1. Personal Referral
  2. Connecting Referral
  3. Low Hanging Fruit Referral
  4. Listening Referral

This type of referral generally starts with someone you know asking you for a personal referral.

“I am looking to sell my house. Do you know a good realtor?”

“I need a caterer. Do you know a good one?”

This type of lead is also includes overhearing someone say they are looking for specific help.

“I need to call a florist today to order flowers for my anniversary.”

“I am looking to upgrade my website.”

Low hanging fruit is defined as “you were in the right place at the right time”. This type of referral is wonderful to come across and certainly if you come into contact with a lot of people in your every work and play life you will hear these types of referral opportunity questions. The more you hear, the more you realize your peers, clients and friends trust you for a recommendation. What a compliment!

These types of referrals don’t happen everyday, and they may not even happen enough to offer two referrals a month to the group. Honestly, waiting to hear this type of question to offer a referral to a member of PRO will likely net you marginal success offering referrals to the group. Seize the opportunities to refer business when these questions arise, but know this really is extra gravy in the referral realm.
